Srinagar records season’s hottest day at 32.2°C
Srinagar, May 18: The summer heat intensified across Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday as Srinagar recorded the hottest day of the season, with the mercury soaring to 32.2°C.
Other parts of the Kashmir Valley also witnessed above-normal temperatures. Qazigund recorded a high of 33.0°C, followed by Kokernag at 31.4°C, Kupwara at 29.9°C, Pahalgam at 27.2°C, and the popular tourist resort Gulmarg at 23.6°C.
In the Jammu region, temperatures touched scorching levels, with Jammu city registering 40.0°C. Katra sizzled at 37.4°C, Bhaderwah at 31.6°C, Batote at 30.9°C, and Banihal at 30.8°C.
Meanwhile, the cold desert region of Ladakh remained relatively cooler, with Leh recording a maximum temperature of 20.4°C. (KINS)
