Kulgam, July 16 (KINS): To enhance security for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, the Kulgam Police have deployed high-tech surveillance systems, including state-of-the-art geo-fencing and facial recognition technology, along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway falling within Kulgam’s jurisdiction.
As part of the enhanced security grid, geo-fencing has been activated along the entire highway stretch falling under Kulgam district’s jurisdiction. This enables real-time monitoring of both pilgrim movements and vehicular traffic, allowing authorities to track and respond to any suspicious activity instantly.
In addition, facial recognition systems have been integrated at key checkpoints to help identify individuals of interest and prevent any security breaches. Officials said these technologies are being used to ensure a safe, smooth, and incident-free Yatra.
A senior police officer said that the high-tech initiative is aimed at leveraging modern surveillance tools to minimize risks and ensure foolproof security arrangements for the yatris traveling through the Kulgam district.(KINS)
