Home Minister Amit Shah reviews security situation in J&K; stresses zero tolerance against terrorism

Jammu, Sept 01 (KINS): Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, on Monday chaired a high-level security review meeting in Jammu to assess the overall security scenario in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS), the meeting was attended by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director (IB), Chief Secretary and DGP of J&K, heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other senior officials.

Amit Shah commended the UT administration and security agencies for the successful and peaceful conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025. He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to ensure smooth religious and cultural events in the region.

Reaffirming the Modi Government’s zero tolerance policy against terrorism, the Home Minister directed all security agencies to remain vigilant and intensify coordinated operations to eliminate terrorism from J&K.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by the recent flash floods in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah appreciated the pivotal role played by the Army, CAPFs, Police, and local administration in rescue and relief operations that saved many lives.

He assured that CAPFs will continue to extend full support in disaster management efforts across the UT.(KINS)
