Srinagar, Sept 05 (KINS): Senior Congress leader Abid Kashmiri has strongly objected to the installation of the ‘National Emblem on a renovation plaque at Hazratbal shrine, calling it disrespectful to the sanctity of religious spaces’.
In a statement issued to KINS Abid said that while “the Constitution is supreme, placing state symbols inside sacred sites like Hazratbal—home to the revered relic of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)—is unethical and hurts religious sentiments.”
Kashmiri urged the authorities and Waqf Board to engage with scholars and the local community to resolve the issue, stressing that shrines must remain places of spirituality, free from political or ideological symbolism. (KINS)
