Srinagar, Nov 05 (KINS): Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Wednesday described Kashmir as the “crown of India” and a timeless centre of learning and wisdom, highlighting its deep cultural and spiritual significance in the country’s heritage.
Speaking to the media as per news agency Kashmir Indpeth News Service (KINS), Khan said Kashmir holds a special place in his heart, adding, “This is not a ceremonial statement — I genuinely mean it when I say that Kashmir is the crown of our country.”
He recalled a traditional practice in Sanskrit institutions, where students symbolically take a few steps toward Kashmir before receiving their degrees — a gesture, he said, that signifies respect for the land of knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment.
Khan’s remarks struck an emotional chord, celebrating Kashmir’s historic contribution to India’s intellectual, cultural, and spiritual legacy, and portraying it as both a geographical jewel and a beacon of ancient learning.(KINS)
