DGP reviews security in Ganderbal,inaugurates multi-utility centre

Srinagar, Jan 20 (KINS): The Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, IPS, on Tuesday chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO), Ganderbal, to assess the overall security situation and operational preparedness of the district. He also inaugurated a Multi-Utility Centre and other facilities at the DPO.

The meeting was attended by Special DGP Coordination S.J.M. Gillani, IPS; IGP Kashmir Zone V.K. Birdi, IPS; DIG Central Kashmir Range Rajiv Pandey, IPS; SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal, JKPS, along with other gazetted officers, SHOs, and district officers of Ganderbal Police.

During the meeting, the DGP reviewed law and order arrangements, counter-terrorism preparedness, crime control measures, and security plans for the upcoming Republic Day 2026. He emphasised the need for heightened alertness, strong security planning, intensified area domination, and effective intelligence-based operations to ensure peaceful and incident-free celebrations.

Addressing the officers, Shri Nalin Prabhat directed them to deal firmly with anti-national elements posing threats to peace and public safety. He reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards activities harmful to national security while underlining the importance of maintaining a people-friendly policing approach.

The DGP appreciated the efforts of Ganderbal Police and urged them to continue working with dedication, professionalism, and commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure a safe and secure environment for the people.(KINS)
