Snowfall brings joy to tourists in Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg

Srinagar, Jan 23 (KINS): Fresh snowfall in popular tourist spots of the Kashmir valley such as Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg brought happiness and excitement to tourists on Friday morning as they woke up to a fresh white cover all around.

Trees, roads and meadows covered with snow presented beautiful views, prompting tourists to come out and enjoy the chilly weather.

Visitors as per news agency Kashmir Indpeth News Service (KINS) were seen clicking photographs, making snowmen and enjoying the snowfall despite the cold.

Many tourists said the snowfall made their visit special and memorable. Anmol from Kerala in Pahalgam said, “We are really enjoying the live snowfall. It is truly beautiful here. This is the first time I am seeing snow, and we feel very lucky.”

Another tourist in Gulmarg said the snowfall added extra charm to the place. “We had heard a lot about Kashmir in winter, but seeing snowfall with our own eyes is amazing,” the tourist said.

A visitor in Sonamarg described the experience as magical, saying, “Everything looks so beautiful. It is truly a lifetime experience.”

Tourism officials said the fresh snowfall has increased excitement among visitors and is expected to boost winter tourism in the Valley. “Snowfall in these tourist places always attracts tourists. Despite the cold, visitors are happy and enjoying their stay,” an official said.

Local hoteliers and shopkeepers also welcomed the snowfall, saying it helps business during the winter season. They added that proper arrangements have been made to ensure the comfort and safety of tourists.

Meanwhile, authorities have advised tourists to follow travel advisories and remain cautious due to slippery roads and changing weather conditions while enjoying the scenic beauty of Kashmir’s winter season.(KINS)
