Srinagar, Spr 17 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday flagged off a grand Shobha Yatra from Chanakya Chowk Parade in Jammu to mark the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Parshuram.
The procession was organised by Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha to commemorate the life and teachings of Bhagwan Parshuram, regarded as the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
Before flagging off the yatra, Manoj Sinha paid obeisance to Bhagwan Parshuram and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity for all.
Among those present on the occasion were Ved Prakash Sharma, members of the organising committee including Parshotam Chander Sharma, Chander Mohan Sharma, Soujanya Sharma, Surinder Sharma, B D Sharma, Rajesh and Raman Sharma.
Yudhvir Sethi and Devyani Rana, senior officials, heads of religious organisations and prominent citizens also attended the flag-off ceremony.(KINS)
