Weather update J&K: Dry spell today, rain & thunder showers likely from April 27; heatwave conditions to persist in Jammu division, advisory issued for farmers and Public

Srinagar, April 26 (KINS): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a detailed weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a mix of dry conditions, cloud cover, and intermittent rainfall over the coming days, along with a heatwave warning for parts of the Jammu division.
According to the forecast, April 26 is expected to remain generally dry across the Union Territory. However, weather conditions are set to change from April 27 to 28, with generally cloudy skies and light rain, thundershowers, and gusty winds likely at scattered to many places, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.
On April 29 and 30, the region will witness partly cloudy skies, with brief spells of light rain or thunder expected at a few locations, mainly during late afternoon hours. Dry weather conditions are likely to return on May 1 and 2.
From May 3 to 4, the weather is again expected to turn generally cloudy, with brief spells of light rain and thunderstorms at scattered to many places, especially in the afternoon and evening.
Advisory Issued:
The MeT department has advised farmers to resume agricultural operations during the relatively stable weather window between April 26 and the afternoon of April 27.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather conditions are likely to persist over the districts of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Reasi, and Udhampur over the next two days. Isolated areas may experience heatwave conditions on April 26 and 27.
Residents in these areas have been urged to avoid heat exposure during peak hours and stay hydrated by consuming adequate fluids, including ORS and traditional drinks like lassi.
Authorities have advised the public to remain updated with official forecasts and take necessary precautions amid changing weather conditions.(KINS)
