Srinagar, May 25(KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said that the rescue operation in Gulmarg has been successfully concluded after more than 200 stranded tourists were safely evacuated.
The large-scale operation was carried out jointly by SDRF, Gulmarg Police, Special Operations Group (SOG), Snow Leopards, and personnel of the J&K Armed Police, including 14 Mountain Rescue Teams. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) also played a major role in the operation.
Senior police officers, including DGP Nalin Prabhat, monitored the rescue efforts on the ground along with the DIG North Kashmir Range and SSP Baramulla.
Police praised the coordinated efforts of all agencies involved, saying the timely response and teamwork ensured the safe rescue of all stranded tourists despite difficult weather and terrain conditions.(KINS)
