Jammu, July 2 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended a one-day capacity-building programme for teachers organised by the School Education Department, SCERT J&K and Bharti Airtel Foundation. He said empowering teachers builds students’ confidence and strengthens society.
The LG stressed that education should transform lives, not just improve exam results, urging schools to become “laboratories of life-building.” He highlighted the importance of life skills, emotional well-being and drug awareness, saying teachers must help students tackle modern challenges such as stress, peer pressure and substance abuse.
He also praised the launch of online classes for Classes 11 and 12 in 10 districts, calling it a major step towards ensuring quality education for students in remote areas. During the event, the LG felicitated meritorious students, honoured winners of the Tobacco-Free Educational Institution initiative and released books on life skills.(KINS)
