Traffic restriction in Srinagar ahead of IFFJK inauguration

Srinagar, Sep 6 (KINS): Traffic Police has announced restrictions and diversions on several roads in Srinagar on Monday in view of the inauguration of the first International Film Festival of Jammu Kashmir (IFFJK) at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC).
According to Traffic Police, increased movement of vehicles towards SKICC is expected after 4 pm during the inauguration programme.
SSP Traffic City Srinagar Aijaz Ahmad Bhat said Gupkar Road will remain restricted for general traffic from 4 pm to 7 pm. Entry during this period will be allowed only to invitees, festival participants, VVIPs and event staff.
Traffic approaching SKICC and Nehru Park from Badyari Chowk and Brein Chowk will also be restricted, except for hotel guests and local residents.
Vehicles travelling towards Nishat will be diverted through Gupkar and Hazratbal, while traffic approaching from the Nishat and Harwan sides will also be diverted towards Hazratbal.
The restrictions and diversions will remain in force from 4 pm to 7 pm or until the conclusion of the inauguration function, whichever is later.
Traffic Police has advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with personnel deployed in the area to ensure smooth movement of traffic during the event. (KINS)
