Bandipora, Sept 11 (KINS): The Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan organised a meeting with former Sarpanches and Panchs from the Bandipora Assembly Constituency at the Congress office in Bandipora to discuss issues concerning Panchayati Raj Institutions and strengthen grassroots-level activities.
The meeting was attended by Congress Chief Whip, J&K, and MLA Bandipora, Advocate Nizamuddin Bhat; Er. Mudasir Lolabi, Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan, J&K; Sangathan In-charge J&K Hira Lal Thakur; Congress District President Bandipora Advocate Sheikh Farooq Habeeb; and District Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Bhat, who hosted and coordinated the programme.
During the meeting, participants discussed the role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in strengthening public participation and local governance. They also highlighted the contribution of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the Congress Party towards strengthening grassroots democratic institutions.
The interaction further focused on strengthening Congress activities at the grassroots level and ensuring greater participation of former Panchayati Raj representatives and local workers in organisational and public affairs.
