Awantipora, Oct 26 (KINS): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Awantipora, Irshad H. Rather (JKPS), on Monday interacted with members of the media fraternity of Police District Awantipora at the District Police Office (DPO), Awantipora.
The interaction focused on strengthening police-media relations, improving mutual coordination and ensuring the timely and accurate dissemination of information to the public.
During the meeting, SSP Awantipora assured media representatives of timely information sharing and emphasised the importance of cooperation, transparency and coordinated efforts in promoting public awareness and social welfare.
He appreciated the role of the media as the fourth pillar of democracy, highlighting its contribution to upholding democratic values, fostering public trust and bridging the gap between the police and the public.
He further stressed that constructive engagement and effective coordination between the police and the media were essential for responsible reporting.
