Srinagar, Apr 27: The School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has launched an investigation into the circulation of a video containing purported objectionable content from a book on social media platforms.
The department clarified that after thorough verification from the textbooks prescribed and developed by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), no such content was found.
Furthermore, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has not developed any book containing such material, nor has it been prescribed in any schools within Jammu and Kashmir.
Expressing concern over the dissemination of potentially harmful content, a spokesperson for the department emphasized the importance of ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of educational materials used in schools.
“Efforts are underway to identify the source of the video so that appropriate legal action can be taken by law enforcement authorities. The department urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified content and to report any instances of suspicious material promptly”.
As the investigation progresses, the Education Department remains vigilant in its efforts to uphold educational standards and ensure the dissemination of accurate and appropriate information in schools across the region.
