NEW DELHI, MAY 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Resident Commission, New Delhi, as part of its “Hello J&K” initiative, organized a proactive workshop on emotional wellness in collaboration with the Sleepwell Foundation.
Commissioner Secretary Hospitality and Protocol, Dr. Rashmi Singh, who also serves as the Principal Resident Commissioner, chaired the sessions of the workshop. The hybrid-mode workshop was attended by officers and officials of the J&K Resident Commission from various locations including Chandigarh, Amritsar, Mumbai, and government employees from the Hospitality & Protocol department in Jammu and Srinagar.
Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of fostering constructive connections within society, especially among the youth, as part of the Hello J&K initiative. She highlighted the workshop’s purpose in assisting employees of the H&P Department in navigating work-related pressures or challenges by fostering self-awareness and achieving a balance of mind, body, and soul. This, she noted, would enable them to resolve internal conflicts and better face external challenges. She commended the speakers for emphasizing the crucial role of emotional first aid and mind management in daily life.
Namita Gautam, Managing Trustee of Sleepwell Foundation, provided context to the workshop and introduced experienced counselors Neelam Agarwal and Marul Khanna Parashar, who conducted an interactive session covering topics such as emotional injury, emotional first aid, myths surrounding emotions, consequences of neglecting emotions, steps for emotional first aid, and tools for self-care.
Pragati Chauhan from the Art of Living emphasized the importance of maintaining a calm and stable mind. She demonstrated how breath and meditation can be used to calm the mind and body, offering participants an experiential learning session in pranayama and meditation.
Anupma Bindra, a Chakra Healing Practitioner, discussed how Colortherapy, aligned with the seven chakras, offers a holistic approach to emotional wellness. She explained the significance of chakras as energy centers and how individuals can keep their chakras balanced using various methods, including colors, as each chakra corresponds to a specific color, influencing various aspects of emotions and well-being.
“By harnessing the power of color therapy and chakra healing, individuals can restore balance, release emotional blockages, and promote inner harmony, contributing towards overall emotional wellness,” she emphasized.
