Sopore Police Arrest Drug Peddler, Seize Psychotropic Substances

Srinagar, May 29: In a continued effort to combat drug-related crimes, the Sopore Police have arrested a drug peddler and seized psychotropic substances from his possession.
A police team from Police Post Putkha, led by IC PP Putkha PSI Rohit Sharma and supervised by SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Tarzoo Inspector Khalid Aslam, apprehended the suspect at a checkpoint at Check Hygam Crossing. The individual was found carrying 144 capsules of PROXYXO SPAX.
The suspect has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Mohammad Lone, a resident of Krankshivan Sopore. A case FIR No. 45/2024 under the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo, and an investigation is underway.
The Sopore police urge the public to report any information regarding narcotics or other crimes to the nearest police station or by dialing 112. Community cooperation is essential in eradicating the drug menace, and the police are committed to taking strict action against offenders.
