Nobel laureate Prof Yunus to head interim govt in Bangladesh as Chief Advisor

New Delhi: Nobel Laureate Dr. Mohammad Yunus has accepted the proposal to become the chief advisor of the interim government, announced key organisers of the Anti-Discriminatory Student Movement following the resignation and fleeing of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Early this morning, Nahid Islam, one of the leading coordinators of the movement, revealed in a video posted on social media that they had already spoken with Dr. Yunus, and he had agreed to the position, given the current state of the country. The announcement was reported by the Daily Star, a prominent Bangladeshi newspaper.
