Srinagar, October 26 (KINS): Dr. Owais Ahmed, Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), conducted a comprehensive review meeting today to assess the progress of centrally sponsored schemes (CSS), Capex-funded projects, and other major initiatives within the Corporation. The meeting focused on evaluating project performance, identifying and addressing challenges, and ensuring the effective implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for Srinagar’s residents.
The session was attended by a broad team of SMC officials, including Joint Commissioners, the Joint Commissioner of Works, Superintending Engineer of the Drainage Circle, Executive Engineers from the Left/Right River Works Division, Electric, Mechanical, Public Health Engineering (PHE), City Roads, Sanitation & Drainage II, and officials from City Development Circle (CDC) and Municipal Construction Division (MCD). Also in attendance were the Divisional Forest Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, Estates Officer, Chief Sanitation Officer, Technical Officer to the Commissioner, Planning Officer, Chief Financial Officer of SSCL, and other Executive Engineers.
Dr. Ahmed engaged each department head for insights on ongoing schemes and projects, emphasizing a commitment to optimizing resource use, streamlining processes, and strengthening collaboration across departments. Stressing transparency and accountability, he noted that this detailed review is a strategic move to ensure SMC’s goals are met efficiently and effectively, furthering development initiatives that directly benefit the citizens of Srinagar.(KINS)
