Police arrested 2 drug peddlers in Baramulla; Psychotropic substances recovered

Srinagar , Nov 06 ( KINS ) : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 2 drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla & DO Old Town Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Old Town, intercepted two persons. During search, 380 Tablets of Alprazolam 0.5 mg psychotropic substances was recovered from their possession. They were later identified as Shahid Bilal Shah son of Bilal Ahmad resident of Janbazpora & Suhail Ahmad Bhat son of Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Ladoora Rafiabad. They have been arrested.
Accordingly, case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigations have been initiated.
We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.( KINS )
