Srinagar, Nov 25 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Monday that 90 percent of the Tawi Riverfront development project has been completed and expressed confidence that the remaining work will be finished by January next year.
Speaking about the project, he highlighted that the second phase would focus on creating a new city along the riverfront, which will further boost tourism in Jammu.
“The tourism sector in Jammu will see significant growth, and we are committed to making it happen,” LG Manoj Sinha told reporters as per news agency KINS.
He added that several steps have already been taken to promote tourism in Jammu division and that more work will be done in the future. The central government is also providing support in these efforts.
LG Sinha also pointed out the growing number of visitors to Jammu’s religious sites, especially on weekends. “Around 5,000 to 6,000 devotees visit temples on Saturdays and Sundays,” he noted.
He praised the teamwork between Jammu Smart City and the irrigation department for successfully carrying out key projects like the Tawi Riverfront development. “I congratulate Jammu Smart City for taking on this challenging project, with support from the irrigation department. These efforts will not only improve tourism but also the quality of urban living,” he said.
LG Manoj Sinha assured the people of Jammu that the government will continue to support tourism development and infrastructure improvements in the region.
He expressed hope that these initiatives would bring transformative changes to Jammu, benefiting both the local economy and residents’ quality of life.(KINS)
