Gulmarg, Dec 26 (KINS): The iconic Gulmarg ski resort, often referred to as the “Jewel of Kashmir,” is gearing up for a grand New Year celebration despite the unusual absence of snow this season.
Tariq Hussain Naik, CEO of the Gulmarg Development Authority, assured visitors that alternative arrangements have been made to ensure a vibrant and memorable holiday experience.
Tariq Hussain told news agency KINS that while the lack of snow has impacted skiing and other snow-related activities, it hasn’t deterred the authorities from creating an unforgettable experience for guests.
“Gulmarg is ready to welcome visitors with a diverse lineup of events and activities to celebrate the New Year in style,” he said.
The CEO said that this year’s New Year celebration in Gulmarg promises to be one of the most extravagant to date.
He said that extra accommodations, improved transport services, and round-the-clock medical support have been arranged for the convenience of visitors.
“Strict safety measures are also in place to ensure that every visitor has a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience in Gulmarg. The lack of snow is unfortunate, but it has also given us an opportunity to showcase Gulmarg’s potential as a year-round destination beyond just skiing.”
The New Year celebrations are expected to give a significant boost to the local economy, benefiting hoteliers, shopkeepers, and transport operators in Kashmir (KINS)
