PDP’s Sartaj Madni says NC leader Aga Rahullah is ‘enacting drama’

Srinagar, Dec 29 (KINS): Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Sartaj Madni Sunday claimed that the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A would not have occurred if Mufti Mohammad Sayeed were alive.
During a meeting held to finalize plans for commemorating Mufti Sayeed’s anniversary on January 7, Madni, according to the news agency KINS, stressed the importance of gathering friends and well-wishers to honor the former Chief Minister’s legacy through prayers and reflection.
Later speaking to reporters about ongoing debates surrounding the open merit system and recent political developments, Madni expressed concern over alleged injustices. “We are not against any group or reservation, but injustice should not befall anyone. The government must ensure the future of our youth is safeguarded and their history remains intact,” he said.
Madni criticized what he described as “managed stage drama” in leadership decisions, suggesting that such actions had undermined transparency and fairness.
He claimed, “Aga Rahullah is an NC leader and MP. Omar Abdullah is the Chief Minister. Aga Rahullah should have gone directly to meet Omar Abdullah instead of enacting drama outside the Chief Minister’s residence.”
On the issue of Article 370 and 35A, Madni said, “If Mufti Mohammad Sayeed were alive, such decisions would not have been taken.” (KINS)
