SMC seals Commercial Building at Nawab Bazar for violating construction Rules

Srinagar, Feb, 28 (KINS): The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has sealed a commercial building in Shah Mohalla, Nawab Bazar, for violating building regulations. This action was taken under the instructions of Dr. Owais Ahmed, IAS, Commissioner of SMC, after it was found that the building did not follow the approved construction plans.

In a statement issued to news agency KINS, SMC said that the operation was carried out by the SMC Enforcement Wing to ensure that building rules were being followed. The building was found to be in clear violation of the guidelines set by the authorities.

Dr. Owais Ahmed, the Commissioner of SMC, reaffirmed the corporation’s strict stance against such violations and urged residents to comply with building permissions and regulations. He stated, “This action sends a strong message that the SMC is serious about enforcing the rules to protect the community.”

Dr. Owais also mentioned that the SMC will continue to monitor construction projects in the city and take action against any violations, stressing that maintaining Srinagar’s urban integrity is a responsibility shared by everyone. He urged the public to cooperate with the established rules.(KINS)
