Kashmiri Filmmaker Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan’s Documentary “Reva – Time to Talk” to Be Screened in Sweden, France & Brazil

Srinagar, July 23 (KINS):  After the remarkable international reception of “Deodar – Roots of Paradise,” which was telecast across Five countries, acclaimed Kashmiri filmmaker Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan is once again making global headlines. His latest documentary, “Reva – Time to Talk (My First Bleed – His First Stand),” is set to be screened in Sweden on August 3rd, France on August 7th, and Brazil on August 11th, 2025.

The powerful documentary sheds light on menstrual hygiene, taboos, and societal silence around women’s health. It explores the emotional journey of Reva, a young girl from Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir, whose first menstruation leads to rejection by her own mother but support from an unexpected source—her father. The narrative reflects deep-rooted issues and encourages open dialogue around gender and empowerment.

“This is the hour to rise for the right causes in society, to address mutual global concerns, especially the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” said Dr. Aijaz while speaking about the film. “I belong to the soil of saints. My inspiration comes from my land and people. Through cinema, I try to spread soulful messages—highlighting what is right, questioning what is wrong, and breaking silence around social taboos. It is our duty to preach good and raise awareness on issues, mismanagement, and negligence in any sector. Everyone has a role to play—this is mine.”
