Army holds 3-day medical camp for Border villages in North Kashmir, over 1,350 people benefited

Srinagar, Dec 10 (KINS): In a continued effort to support and uplift border communities in Jammu & Kashmir, the Kalapahar and Pir Panjal Brigades organised a three-day medical camp in the villages of Salamabad, Nambla and Gingal from December 8 to 10, 2025.

A dedicated team of eight civilian specialist doctors and five Indian Army Medical Officers led the initiative. Over 1,350 residents from these villages and nearby areas attended the camp and received free medical treatment.

Specialist doctors provided focused care—checking orthopaedic issues like joint pain and old fractures, offering gynaecology consultations for women, treating skin problems common in cold climates, and addressing children’s health needs.

Locals expressed deep gratitude for the medical outreach, saying it brought much-needed healthcare to their doorstep. Such initiatives strengthen trust and cooperation between the Indian Army and the community.

While the Chinar Corps continues its primary duty of securing borders and maintaining peace in the Kashmir Valley, it also works actively for nation-building through education, healthcare, disaster relief, infrastructure development and youth engagement. The Army remains committed to improving the lives of people in remote areas.(KINS)
