Srinagar Police organises T20 Cricket tournament to encourage youth

Srinagar, Apr 18 (KINS): As part of its efforts to engage youth in positive activities and strengthen police-public relations, Srinagar Police on Saturday started a T20 Knockout Cricket Tournament at Sri Pratap College Ground, Srinagar under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26.
A total of 16 teams from different parts of Srinagar district are taking part in the tournament. The event provides a platform for young players to show their talent, teamwork and sportsmanship.
The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy. Senior officers including Shah Umar, Neha Jain, Syed Sleet Shah and Nazir Ahmad were also present on the occasion.
During the event, police officers encouraged the participants and highlighted the importance of sports in building character, maintaining fitness and keeping youth away from social evils like drug abuse and crime.
Srinagar Police said such programmes under CAP aim to promote discipline, unity, healthy competition, confidence, leadership and social responsibility among young people.(KINS)
