Srinagar, June 23 (KINS): Social activist and youth leader Adv. Jehanzeb Allaqaband met Member of Parliament and former Union Minister Dr. Shashi Tharoor during his visit to Srinagar.
During the meeting, Adv. Allaqaband briefed Dr. Tharoor about the upcoming Kashmir Conclave, a major event being planned in Srinagar. The conclave aims to bring together policymakers, diplomats, academics, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, youth representatives, and other prominent personalities from across the country to discuss issues related to youth empowerment, innovation, economic growth, tourism, investment, public policy, and the future of Jammu & Kashmir.
The two also discussed the ongoing anti-drug campaign led by Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha. Adv. Allaqaband appreciated the Lieutenant Governor’s efforts in tackling drug abuse and said the campaign has become a people’s movement with active participation from youth, educational institutions, civil society groups, religious leaders, and local communities.
He said that awareness programmes, rehabilitation initiatives, and youth engagement efforts under Shri Manoj Sinha’s leadership have strengthened the fight against drug abuse and helped protect the future of young people in Jammu & Kashmir.
Both leaders stressed the importance of public participation and collective responsibility in eliminating drug abuse and creating a healthier and safer future for the youth.
Adv. Allaqaband thanked Dr. Tharoor for his time, guidance, and support for the vision of the Kashmir Conclave. He said Dr. Tharoor’s views on youth engagement, governance, diplomacy, and national development were highly inspiring.
He also expressed gratitude to Mrs. Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan for her support in facilitating the meeting.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides emphasizing the need to empower youth, encourage constructive dialogue, and support initiatives aimed at the development and prosperity of Jammu & Kashmir.(KINS)
