Srinagar,Aug 05 (KINS): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast intermittent rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, with a possibility of heavy showers at isolated places and warned of flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
During the past 24 hours, significant rainfall was recorded in several parts of the Jammu division, with Kathua receiving 81 mm, Udhampur 66.6 mm, Katra 51 mm, and Samba 47 mm.
According to the forecast, Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places from August 5 to 8, with brief intense showers at isolated locations. From August 9 to 11, rainfall activity is expected to intensify, with heavy rainfall likely at a few places. Light to moderate rain is expected to continue at many places from August 12 to 15.
The MeT Centre has advised people to remain cautious, as intense rainfall between August 5 and August 9–11 could trigger flash floods, landslides and mudslides in vulnerable areas.(KINS)
