Six free LPG cooking gas cylinders provisioned for AAY families per year : Satish Sharma
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 24: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Satish Sharma, today informed the Legislative Assembly that the Government has approved the provision of six (6) free LPG cooking gas cylinders per year to Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) families across Jammu & Kashmir.
The Minister highlighted that under this provision, eligible AAY families will be entitled to six LPG cooking gas cylinders free of cost every year, providing significant relief towards their household cooking requirements and reducing the financial burden on families belonging to the most disadvantaged sections of society.
He highlighted that the measure is aimed at strengthening the social security framework and ensuring that welfare benefits reach those who need them the most.
He emphasised that providing affordable and accessible cooking fuel is an important component of improving household well-being and ensuring a dignified standard of living for vulnerable families.
The Minister said that this initiative is expected to provide sustained support to AAY households across Jammu & Kashmir and further reinforce the Government’s focus on inclusive development, social justice and people-centric welfare measures.
