Magam residents protest against water crisis

Baramulla, Jan 07 : Residents of Magam area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday protests against water shortage in the area since past week.

Reports reaching Kashmir Indepth News said that scores of residents including women on Monday blocked Srinagar-Gulmarg National Highway at Magam and registered their protest to highlight water crisis in their area.

The protesting residents shoted slogans against PHE department for failed to provide them regular water supply in this chilling winter.

The protesting residents said that the area is without the water from last many days, and despite repeated requests, the administration has failed to restore the problem. The protestors however threatened to go for bigger protest if this water crisis grievances will not be redressed at earliest.

Meanwhile PHE authorities assured to restore water supply in the area at earliest.
