Sopore Gunfight: Locals Find Body Parts From Debris Of House

Srinagar, Feb 22: Body parts of two militants, killed in a gunfight with government forces, were found by locals from the debris of a house razed to rubble during a gunfight in Warpora area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The body parts were found by the locals after the joint team of police and army withdrew from the encounter site following the killing of two militants whose “bodies” were claimed to have been retrieved by the joint forces along with as many weapons and other arms and ammunition.

When contacted SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal told GNS that a police team was rushed to the spot as soon as the information was received in this regard.

“There was one arm and some organs of the militants which were found by the locals and they have been now retrieved by the police party,” the SSP said.

Following the incident, there were pro-freedom sloganeering by the locals. (GNS)
