Kashmir journos stage protest against advt ban to newspapers

Srinagar: Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG) along with journalists on Sunday staged a protest in Srinagar against the government ban on advertisements to two newspapers-Kashmir Reader and Greater Kashmir.

Both newspaper owners and journalists assembled at Kashmir Press Club in the afternoon and demanded the ban be revoked.

“In last 15 days we have been asked the government why this decision has been taken. But there has been no response from the government ” said vice president KEG Bashir Manzar.

The newspapers had published blank front pages today in protest against the government’s unofficial advertisment ban to the two papers.
