Policeman Injured In Khanyar Airlifted To AIIMS

Srinagar, May 3 : Selection Grade Constable of Police, Mohammad Illiyas Khan who was injured critically in a militant attack in Khanyar here, was Friday airlifted to AIIMS for treatment, officials said.

Khan received a critical gunshot wound in the head on the evening of May 1 after suspected militants opened fire upon him near his residence at Aqilmir Khanyar, Srinagar. Khan was immediately shifted to SMHS hospital from where he was later referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment.

At SKIMS, doctors performed surgery upon the injured cop and was later put on the ventilator.

“Khan was airlifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for further treatment today afternoon,” official sources said.

A police officer while confirming it said that the seriously injured officer along with his family was airlifted to AIIMS Delhi through an air ambulance arranged by the department. (GNS)
