Thousands throng at Kheera Bhawani

Ganderbal, June 10, : The annual festival of Kheer Bhawani was celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits with religious fervour at Tulmulla in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal on Monday.

The temple witnessed a large number of devotees. Witnesses said that the number of devotees thronged the place from different parts of the state and the numbers were much higher than of the previous years.

An official said that thousands of devotees have reached  Tul Mulla from across India to celebrate the yearly festival in the Tul Mulla temple.

  BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav visited Tulmulla  where he interacted with a number of devotees.

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik also visited the Kheer Bhawani shrine to take part in the Mela. Malik earlier observed that this Festival is a shining example of communal harmony and brotherhood, which have been the hallmarks of the glorious pluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir in the centuries past.

The former Chief Minister and President Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti also extended her warm greetings to the people.

Similarly, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir has also greeted people on the auspicious occasion. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah also wished people on the occasion.
