Anantnag, Jul 17 : Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Bijbehara Abdul Rashid Dass Wednesday suspended ten employees of Public Health Engineering (PHE) division Bijbehara after being found absent from their duties.
Earlier, a protest was held at PHE division Bijbehara during which the residents of Bijbehara, Sultanpora, Nail, Arwani and Jablipora demanded adequate water supply to them.
The SDM Bijbehara however rushed to the spot to pacify the villagers by assuring them action against erring employees and redressal of their genuine demands.
Meanwhile, the attendance of all the employees was checked.
Ten employees were found absent from their duties who were suspended by the SDM Bijbehara.
The Executive Engineer was also found absent from the duties.
SDM while talking to news agency said that ten employees including Head Assistants, junior Assistants and others were suspended following a complaint that employees remain absent from duties.
Meanwhile, people of the area appreciated the action initiated against the officials. (KNS)
