Ceasefire violation along LoC in Uri

Srinagar, July 30 : India and Pakistan armies on Tuesday evening trade shelling along LoC in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An army officer said that Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked firing on the forward Indian positions in Uri sector near Mohra this evening.

“Pakistani troops targetted our positions along the LoC in Mohra sector of Uri around 08 pm this evening.,” the army official told news agency . The officer said that the soldiers manning the fence responded strongly.

A police officer also confirmed the cross border shelling in Uri to news agency and said that no loss of life or injury was reported immediately. Officer further said the intermittent exchange of shelling from both sides is on.

Pertinently, two infiltrators were killed in Gurez sector on Tuesday evening, while two civilians were injured in cross border shelling in Tangdhar Sector. (GNS)
