Div Com visits Fruit Mandi Sopore, inspects facilitation center

BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 13: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, accompanied by DIG North Kashmir Range and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla G. N. Itoo visited Fruit Mandi Sopore where he inspected various counters of Facilitation Center.

The Facilitation Center was recently established for the fruit growers, so that they can avail benefits from recently launched Market Intervention Scheme.

Later, Divisional Commissioner convened a meeting regarding implementation of Market Intervention Scheme. He directed officers to aware fruit growers about the benefits of the Scheme. He said that Government has started this facility for the welfare of the fruit growers.

Under MIS scheme, apples cultivated in Kashmir will be procured directly from farmers by the government-run National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).

Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Director Horticulture, SSP Sopore, ADC Sopore, ADC Baramulla besides other concerned attended the meeting.
