NHM employees meet Lieutenant Governor

Srinagar, Feb 07 :A delegation of National Health Mission (NHM) Employees Association Kashmir division on Friday met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu here at Shere-I-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Srinagar during a public outreach program.

The delegation comprised of Vice President Dr Zahoor Ahmad Malik, Chief Spokesperson Abdul Rauoof, chief organiser Idrees Mostafa and others.

In a statement issued, NHM employees association J&K said the Governor assured the delegation that the government is working on all the contractual employees of Jammu and Kashmir.

“We are hopeful that our long pending demand of regularisation and other pending issues would be sorted out at the earliest,” the NHM association said.

As per the statement there are more than 8000 employees in J&K, including doctors and, paramedics, who are working in different health facilities and have not been regularised over the years.

It said in March 2017 after their strike, the then government had formed a committee for their regularisation and the committee later submitted its report to government in 2018.

“NHM employees are providing healthcare services across Jammu and Kashmir and act as major health care providers,” it added.
