Srinagar Police held four gamblers from N R Colony Bemina last evening while they were gambling in public view. The gamblers were not carrying cash but they had been staking money using mPay. The money would be transfered among the gamblers online using mPay.Only a cash amount of Rs1,355 was recovered from their possession.
The gamblers were identified as:
- Faisal Bashir Koila
S/O Bashir Ahmad, - Tawfeeq Ahmad Wani S/O Gh. Ahmad,
- Ghaneemat Wani S/O Mohd Yousuf and
- Khalid Bashir S/O Bashir Ahmad Bhat
all residents of Abu-Bakar Colony Bemina.
In this connection case FIR 16/2020 under relevant sections of Gambling Act stands registered in Police Station Batamaloo & Investigation is going on.
This is continuation to efforts of Srinagar Police to curb the social crimes.
General public has applauded this police action.
