2 people die after slipping into well in Kupwara, second incident in July

SRINAGAR, July 9(KINS): Two people died after falling into a well in Chalgund Hyhama Kupwara on Thursday.

A police official told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that two people were cleaning a well at Ganaie Mohalla Chalgund when they slipped and fell into the well.

“Both died after falling into the well. Police and SDRF team launched the rescue operation but could not rescue them,” the official said.

They have been identified as Ghulam Nabi Khan, 26, son of Majloon Khan  and Ghulam Mohidin Ganai, 60, son of Ghulam Rasool Ganai. Both are residents of Chalgund

This is the second incident in July when people fell into a well and died in Kupwara district. On July 1, four persons died after falling into a well in Dard Harie village in Kralpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.(KINS)
