Progress of establishment of Kanihama as CTV reviewed


Srinagar, Sep 07 (KINS): Process of establishment of Kanihama village in district Budgam as Craft Tourism Village (CTV) has begun in full pace.


Following the  establishment of  CTV , this village will be equipped with all required facilities where any foreigner or local visitor shall not face any  kind of inconveniences said Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza during his visit to the said village.


While chairing a meeting convened in this regard at CFC Kanihama , the DC said the main aim of developing this village s to promote Kani Shawl and craft all over the world, besides introduce its artisans weavers locally and internationally so that they can manage its weaving , production, demonstration, exhibitions and sale without the involvement of brokers.


The DC said the beautification of the village is on top agenda and concerned authorities have been directed to provide all necessary facilities to the designated craft center located on the Srinagar Gulmarg Road.


He said concerned authorities will ensure that roads approaching this location from all adjoining areas are fully macadamized, similarly PHE and PDD departments will ensure round the clock water and power supply after the craft center is made functional.
He said RDD will ensure that surroundings of the craft center shall be developed on standard levels, besides passenger sheds existing around the locations are repaired on modern lines.
The Tourism Department being the prime stake holder of the whole process has been directed to ensure publicity through advertising and other means besides installing huge hoarding at all prime locations.
The DC on the occasion was accompanied by JD Planning Mohammad Rafiq Dar, SDM Beerwah, Deputy Director Tourism, all concerned Ex. Engineers, officers and officials from concerned departments and agencies.(KINS)
