SDM Karnah reviews I-Day arrangements

KUPWARA, JULY 30 .( KINS): The Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Dr Gulzar Ahmad Rather, today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements being put in place by different departments for smooth celebrations of Independence Day in Karnah Sub division.

The meeting discussed threadbare various issues with regard to arrangements for smooth conduct of the National Day and officers were given assignments as per the past practice.

The SDM said that the main function of Independence Day shall be held at Mini Secretariat Karnah, where the National Flag will be hoisted at 9 AM, followed by inspection of the parade.

There will be a joint march past presented by the contingents of JKP, NCC, and Forest Protection Force, said the SDM.

On the occasion, the SDM impressed upon all the concerned departments to work with more zeal and dedication to make the event a grand success in the Tehsil.

The SDM directed to ensure strict compliance of COVID SOPs and maintain COVID Appropriate Behavior in letter and spirit during the celebration.

Earlier, the meeting discussed the arrangements including seating arrangements, availability and protocol of National Flag, contingents for parade, cultural programmes and availability of drinking water facilities besides Health Care, sanitation, electricity, transportation, and refreshment.

The deployment of Officers, preparation of certificates, coverage of the event, barricading, services of commentators and other required facilities were also discussed in the meeting and officers were directed to ensure flawless and fault free arrangements in all respects.

It was also given out that the next review shall be held before one week of the celebration of the Independence Day.

Principal G.D.C Tangdar, G.M.Lone, Tehsildar Karnah Mudasir Sikander, Executive Engineer R&B Manzoor Ahmad; Naib Tehsildars, ZEO Tangdar and ZEO Chamkote, AEE R&B, AEE PDD and Station House Officer Tangdar, attended the meeting.
