DGP visits family of martyr Ct Nissar; expresses solidarity with the bereaved family

Srinagar, Aug 9 (KINS ) Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Monday visited the family of martyr Police Constable Nissar Ahmad Wagay who attained martyrdom on August 7, 2021 in a militant attack in south Kashmir district of Kulgam.

The DGP was accompanied by ADGP Sunil Kumar, IGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar, DIG South Kashmir Range Abdul Jabbar, SSP Anantnag Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, Commanding Officer Indian Reserve Police (IRP) 17th Batallion Javid Iqbal and other jurisdictional officers of Anantnag district.

The DGP expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul who gave supreme sacrifice of his life while on duty.

While interacting with the family of the martyr he said that the whole Police Pariwar stands with the bereaved family of martyr and shares their grief and sorrow. He assured that every support would be provided to the family.

Constable Nissar Ahmad Wagay attained martyrdom when militants fired indiscriminately upon a Police party at Poshwan area of Damhal Hanji Pora in district Kulgam on August 7, 2021 while on duty.

He has left behind old parents, one unemployed brother and two elder sisters who are of marriageable age and he was preparing for their marriage soon, the family members said. The DGP consoled the bereaved family and said that JKP Pariwar would be there to shoulder this responsibility and all required support shall be extended.

A large number of people from the village had come to condole the death of Ct. Nissar and express their sympathies with the bereaved family. Some local elders and youth also met the DGP and praised the deceased constable for his people friendly conduct and helping nature to everyone. They also requested the DGP to provide help to the family as the martyred constable was only earning hand in the family.

His uncles told the DGP that they were proud of the sacrifice of their son who was brave and courageous, honest and helping to everyone including their families. They desired that the guilty would be punished by law and the almighty for the sin they have committed.
