DIPR’s Cultural Wing Kashmir celebrates ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ at Handwara

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 23 ( KINS ) : As a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ celebrations, a variety of cultural programme were today organised by the Cultural Unit Srinagar, Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in collaboration with District Information Centre Kupwara at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Handwara, here.

On the occasion, artists of Cultural Unit Srinagar and some renowned artists of the valley enthralled the audience with their theme based performances. The artists of Cultural Unit Srinagar including Mushtaq Ahmad Saznawaz, Ather Balpuri, G M Anzwali, G M Khanday joined by Feroz Ahmed Shah and party, a popular Kashmiri folk group presented patriotic songs.

Hilal Mattoo, Shabeer Hakak and a group of theatre actors highlighted the progress and achievements of the nation since independence through their skit. They also presented one more skit to generate covid awareness among the masses.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy CEO Kupwara applauded the efforts of the Information department for inculcating the spirit of patriotism and for conducting programmes aimed at creating awareness among the students as well as the general public regarding COVID-19.

Cultural officer Tawheed Ahmad Mir, in his video message applauded the artists and said that every citizen should be connected with the country by heart. This sense of pride shows us the way to live the “mantra of unity”.

In his welcome address, Syed Shakeel Shan encouraged the local talent and assured them of grooming technically by the support of the Cultural wing of DIPR.

Principal Government Boys Higher Secondary School Handwara, Rafiq Ahmed Mir formally thanked the guests and assured about the full support in near future regarding uplifting art and culture.

Later, a career counseling session was arranged by Nizamia Educational Group and White Globe for local young and skillful aspirants of Kupwara district.

The function was attended by District Information Officer Mohammad Yusuf Mir, DIC Kupwara employees, HSS Handwara staff, students and the prominent citizens of the locality.
