DC inspects Mushroom Demonstration cum Training Centre at Ramban

 

RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 02( KINS): Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today inspected functioning of Mushroom Demonstration cum Training Centre, here at Agriculture Complex.

The Deputy Commissioner was apprised by the Chief Agriculture Officer about the activities and functioning of the center. He informed that 75 new progressive farmers interested in Mushroom farming    have been trained by the department for earning their livelihood.

The CAO informed that from this August, the district has recorded over 11000 kg Mushroom and nearly 6000 Mushroom farming bags were provided to farmers.

The DC directed the CAO to provide marketing facility to farmers including linkage with hotels and restaurants to enable them to get maximum financial benefit from mushroom farming

The DC directed the concerned authorities to extend their range of operation and involve more and more youth in Mushroom farming by giving them training and Job opportunity in this field.

He also urged upon the unemployed youth to come forward and avail benefits of various welfare and self employment schemes.

The DC further stressed for dissemination of awareness among the people about various new and scientific mushroom cultivation methods so that production and productivity is leveraged. ( KINS)
