JAMMU, JANUARY 5 (KNS): Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, during a meeting with District Development Council (DDC) Chairpersons from Jammu division, assured comprehensive support from the LG Administration to fortify the democratic institution in the UT.
In attendance were the Principal Secretary of Finance and Commissioner Secretary of RDD and Housing & Urban Development Departments. The Chairpersons collectively submitted a memorandum, addressing issues within their districts and seeking resolutions.
Key concerns raised included the revalidation of savings for other welfare measures, additional grants for ongoing schemes, and the resolution of developmental needs with a focus on youth employment. Chief Secretary Dulloo urged efficient planning, advising an early start to the tendering process before the working season in April.
Dulloo assured prompt approval of savings through competitive tendering, emphasizing their utilization for developmental projects. He announced his intention to personally visit their areas in the coming weeks, fostering interaction with local representatives and residents. Recognizing their pivotal role, he encouraged active participation in planning and monitoring for comprehensive area development.
Highlighting the Chairpersons as vital links between the people and administration, Dulloo affirmed their increased involvement in governance aspects within their respective DDC constituencies across Jammu and Kashmir.
