JeI, Mirwaiz express grief, sympathy to Syed Ali Geelani over demise of son-in-law

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Jamat e Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Ghulam Hassan Makhdoomi, the eldest son-in-law of Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani.

In a statement, Mirwaiz expressed his heartfelt condolence, solidarity, and sympathy with the Makhdoomi and Geelani family and prayed for the highest standards in Janah to the deceased.

Mirwaiz expressed solidarity with the aged resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani, who remains confined to his Hydepora residence for past many years. “Mirwaiz paid to Almighty to help Geelani and Makhdoomi families to bear this loss.”

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and kashmir has expressed its sympathy and condolences with the bereaved family in particular Syed Ali Geelani, Chairman Hurriyat (G) on the death of his son-in-law.

“A delegation of Jama’at comprising of Faheem Mohammad Ramzan (Secretary-General) and Nazir Ahmad Raina (Guidance Bureau Chief) and accompanied by the local leadership went to Dooru, Sopore and paid glorious tributes to the deceased and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and also prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased,” spokesman of JEI said in a statement.
