Govt Deptts ‘lenient’ in execution of Srinagar works

SRINAGAR: The District Development Commissioner Srinagar has told the government that government departments have been lenient in execution of works in Srinagar.
As per the government, the DDC Srinagar recently held a meeting with the authorities where he raised the issue of traffic congestion, infrastructure gaps in education, health, and power infrastructure.
“The DC explained on the lenient execution of works by departments,” the document reads.
The document reveals that Governor administration was keen in completion of the works of developmental projects in Srinagar.
“The firm decisions need to be taken on ground so that these projects do not go languishing,” the document reads.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan has directed the departments to expedite the developmental works
There have been many projects, which await completion since years. On the directives of Governor, several departments have also framed committees to monitor the schemes and projects on monthly basis for their timely completion.
The committees have been directed to review the progress of projects on monthly basis to gauge the pace of progress.
