SRINAGAR, Jan 12: Advocate Farooq Ahmad Ganaie, son of former minister Mohammad Akbar Ganaie from Dooru and Advocate Ghulam Mohammad Thoker, PDP zonal president Anantnag on Saturday joined National Conference in presence of Party president Dr Farooq Abdullah at Dak Bunglow in Anantnag.
Advocate Ganaie was the NC candidate during last assembly elections but was defeated by Pradesh Congress Committee president G.A Mir. However, he had developed cold feet in National Conference and had estranged relations with the party leadership.
During today’s convention, Dr Farooq described his joining back as homecoming. The two advocates were welcomed in the party fold by the NC president saying that their joining will further strengthen the party base in Dooru and Anantnag constituencies.
